MEET YOUR CAPTAIN

Cpt. Matt Soucie is a Maine native and has been fishing its coastal waters for over 25 years. He took to fly fishing for trout and salmon at a young age, and in his teens began the summer pursuit of stripers and bluefish off the coast of southern Maine's beaches and rocky coastline. In 2012 he began working on a local charter boat while studying for his USCG Captains and Maine Guide licenses. After obtaining his credentials that summer he began running his own boat for the same charter outfit and has been routinely fishing the waters from Kennebunk to Kittery ever since. 

 

He is the winner of the 2023 Maine Coast Striped Bass Fly Tournament.

He has fished the waters of Maine, New Hampshire, Cape Cod, upstate New York, Connecticut, Montana, Wyoming,  the USVI, and Turks and Caicos.

When not guiding or fishing the salt, Matt enjoys fly fishing the rivers around Moosehead Lake and Grand Lake Stream, upland bird hunting, tying flies, and spending time with his family.
